The Daily Monitor was established as an independent daily newspaper. It was originally known as the monitor until it was relaunched as the Daily Monitor in June 2005. The Daily Monitor is now the leading independent daily and most influential newspaper in Uganda, and has a national reach in Uganda, also reaching Kigali, Nairobi and Southern Sud.
